OUR STORY:

In 1994, Bob Buford wrote the book Halftime with the expectation that it would sell 5,000 copies. Upon the release, Bob began to receive calls from those who read the book and had the same message. "This is me...how do I do it?" After thousands of calls and a number of meetings, renowned management consultant Peter Drucker, Bob's mentor for 25 years, encouraged him to launch an organization that would help people answer the "How do I do it?" question. It is Halftime's mission to inspire and equip business and professional leaders to embrace God's calling and move from success to significance.

Over the past decade, the Halftime organization has become the leading authority in this space. We focus our efforts on marketplace leaders with a deep desire for a significant second half. We link Halftimers to the right resources for each stage of the journey & connect them with a network of like-minded people to learn from and with.

From the personal discoveries that many Halftimers have made, lives all over the world have been changed. The impoverished are being clothed and fed. Widows and orphans are being served. And through this work, God is being glorified.

OUR MISSION:

Ephesians 2:10 is the basis for our work: “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” We help people to discover what God’s call is for them, and how they can use their skills and passions to benefit His Kingdom.

For the past 30 years, Bob Buford has pursued high-yield philanthropy. As in the parable of the sower from Matthew 13, Bob believes it is important to invest our time, talent and treasure into people, projects and organizations who have the capacity to produce eternal results. It is our privilege to serve talented leaders who have a desire to embrace a life of significance. At first, most of them have no idea what this may be. We assist them in creating margin in their lives so they may make eye contact with God to discover His unique assignment for their lives. A gift to Halftime will assist in, as Bob says, “growing fruit on other people’s trees” and launching these talented people into service to others all around the world.
